Kuda Rice is a Zimbabwean writer and storyteller. His storytelling is mainly portrayed through poetry and spoken word which he fuses with different art forms such as music, fashion and visual art to bring out not only creative ideas, but ideas that convey a message to people.

According to Kuda , “poetry came in the most random of ways.” Always destined to be a creative he started off with dance and drawing before meeting a girl who loved poetry and encouraged him to try it out. He would go on to write poems for her and she instantly reassured him of his talent. Her reaction led to more writing and he started writing more broadly drawing from his insecurities, experiences and things that went on around him in the political sphere.

“For a long time I was a bedroom poet, then eventually I went out to see other poets perform and I saw the power that came from sharing your message and that inspired me to get on stage.”

His intro on Takura’s new album KING OF HEARTS is like a mesmerizing dance of words, weaving emotions and imagery into a Symphony of meaning. Each line is a brushstroke on the canvas of music painting a vivid picture that resonates deep with the soul. Truly a masterpiece that transcends and touches the heart.
